Soak C143

The C143 Hagatna Bay had disastrous soaking results for me. The stamp came off the paper ok, but this is what the stamp looked like when it was done:

Yes, very true indeed of all the modern photo-like stamps. These stamps do seem to do that - especially when there are dark colors involved (I wonder if the black ink is thicker because it tends to shows cracks the easiest). I've noticed on a lot of the modern ones that if you keep the stamp flat at all costs and peel the paper from the stamp, you can avoid cracking the ink on the face:
