Great looking wallpaper, Steve!
In thinking about your love of German Shepherds, I wondered if you have a "Dogs of the World" model of a GSD?
They were simple plastic models of the early - mid 60s that came with a set of paints to correctly colorize the models. I had about 6 of them . . . as well as half again as many Birds of the World models . . . all sitting on my bedroom dresser!
You can see a couple of examples of other dogs at the bottom of:

Wow! Those are pretty cool!
Yeah, we pretty much like are girls. The one on this page is mine. GSD's are pretty much a single person dog. We had a male that was suppose to be a service dog for my wife, but I made the mistake of starting his training. She never could get him to work with her. We had to get another for her and that is the one that had spine surgery last year. We've had 2 Shepherds in the family since then.
Since I had to Assist the Assistive dog after surgery, they moved me in the company that I work to a position that does not require traveling. I was on the road about 75% of the time. That was when I started sifting through my wife collection that she inherited from her grandfather. Which led to buying stamps which led to selling stamps.
And we love both buying and selling!
So it was natual to go with the GSD motif!
If you ever do a cachet with Shepherds, keep us in mind!
Sorry to duplicate a message here that I already put in your Guestbook (I'm not yet sure of the distinction between the two venues) . . .
. . but what is the story, or significance, behind the comic FDC you posted in your Photo Gallery??
I can't quite make out the name of the cachetmaker, but I like the artwork!
Sorry, Bennettoons... I couldn't figure out how to post to the Guest Book, so I replied by *Letter*. The only reason I put the picture there was an attempt to post the picture in the Handdrawn Cachet Group - Hopefully there's an easier way that I have not discovered yet to post an image!!
It's cute cachet that we got in a box of covers. We were hoping that one of you cachet expert types could help us out in identifying it!
In very light pencil someone has written CHANOVE which may be the cachetmaker.
I think near the top of everyone's Profile page is a line of options -- one of them is Guestbook, and you can enter a message there (although I don't understand the distinction between using the Guestbook and using this Comments section
.
I'll answer your cover question over in the Group! (not that I've got much of an answer!)
