Description
US, Scott 1, 1847 5c red brown on 1850 RAILROAD COVER with small discolored tape reinforcing on folds. Stamp with huge margins on 3 sides with part of next stamp showing at left, just in at bottom, red double "PAID" and crisp strike of "NEW HAVEN R.R. / FEB 22 (1850)" CDS in red. Embossed and printed letterhead of the "Office of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts" with Northampton byline, addressed to Stockbridge, N.Y. A rare cover.
