This item is set of five commemorative stamps issued by Royal Mail (the British Post Office) on August 6, 1996. These stamps are listed in Scott as #1693-1697. All are MNH as issued by Royal Mail.

As is typical for British commemorative sets, the stamps' denominations pay a variety of rates from 20 pence (domestic 2^nd class) to 43 pence (international airmail) which were in effect at the time of issue.

Each stamp shows a British woman who achieved greatness in her chosen field. These include

Chemist Dorothy Hodgkins (20p, Scott #1693)

Ballet Dancer Margot Fonteyn (26p #1694)

Sculptress Elisabeth Frink (31p #1695)

Writer Daphne du Maurier (37p, #1696),

and

Runner Marea Hartman (43p, #1697).

The stamp showing Elisabeth Frink was the 1996 British contribution to that year's "Europa" omnibus, which featured sculpture in that year.

Return policy:

14 day, money back guarantee, provided the item(s) are sent back in original condition. The 14-day period is defined as follows:

US bidders: 14 days from the 3^rd day after the item is sent.

International: 14 days from the 7^th day after the item is sent.
