Description

This is a blank bank check (cheque) printed by the Standard Bank of South Africa Limited, Pietermaritzburg. It has the record slip still attached on the right, No Ac26125 on both sections, and the British pound symbol £ for the amount. The date section is blank but has a pre-printed "191_" and just below it on the check side is an embossed image of King Edward VII of Great Britain (see close-up in the second scan). The piece is in remarkably excellent condition given its age. It was folded in half and the right of the record slip is torn. The back has only some stray markings. A nice piece of historical interest.
