Description

Very attractive, unsealed, unaddressed, poly-sleeve enclosed, cacheted cover (both sides) honoring Medal of Honor recipient for Valor, 1st of the War in Afghanistan, (posthumously), U.S. Navy SEAL, Lt. Michael Patrick Murphy. Front cachet is a photo of Lt. Murphy in class A uniform, with pertinent text, a photo in his "Cammies" w/text, the Medal of Honor, a SEAL's Trident insignia, and a photo taken as President George W. Bush, in a ceremony at the White House, presents Murphy's Medal of Honor to his parents on 22 October 2007. It's franked with the 41 cent Purple Heart and canceled, "MYSTIC BEACH, NY, 11961 MAY 7 2008", near Murphy's place of birth, and final resting place. Back cachet is a concise text pertaining to Murphy's acts of heroism, some of which is elaborated on in Murphy's actual M.O.H. Citation.
