Creatures of the Eastern Deciduous Forest


 The seventh set in the popular Nature of America series - the Eastern Deciduous Forest pane of 2005 - was another gorgeous painting by stamp designer John D. Dawson that contained 10 stamps in its overall design.

Featured on the stamps were:

White-Tailed Deer • Ovenbird • Long-Tailed Weasel • Red Eft • Eastern Chipmunk

Eastern Red Bat • Eastern Buckmoth • Wild Turkey • Red-Shouldered Hawk • Black Bear

Cartoonist and cachetmaker Dave Bennett has depicted all ten of these woodland denizens on his pop-up cachet == it fits a normal album space when folded . . .

. . . but when opened up, creates a 12" long panorama of Eastern wildlife!

This auction is for TWO covers featuring all ten stamps in the set, all cancelled on the first day of issue, March 3, 2005, in the verdant wilds of New York City.
